Abstract : The experimental study carried to investigate the tribological properties of banana peel broth, extracted from the banana peel of Grand Naine or Musa acuminate, most common banana species grown in India. The broth was extracted from peels by mixing the insides of peels with remaining banana peel shreds. The results show that at steady state, the coefficient of friction was much lower than the direct contact coefficient of friction of surfaces. Through the experimental study, it has been observed that the wear, as well as the coefficient of friction, were reduced near to 0.11 in comparison to dry condition at 0.23.

Keywords : Tribology, Lubrication, Biodegradable, Sustainable development, Banana peel.
