Abstract :
Human capital and entrepreneur competence
are two important factors needed by Small and Medium
Enterprises (SMEs) to face environmental challenges in
a dynamic and competitive business world. achieve
business performance. This study aims to examine the
effect of human capital and entrepreneur competence
on business performance. The research sample of 108
culinary SMEs. Data was collected through a survey by
distributing questionnaires. Data analysis techniques
using structural equation modeling with the Partial
Least Square (PLS) approach. The results showed that
human capital had a significant positive effect on
entrepreneur competence, human capital had a
significant effect on business performance and
entrepreneur competence as mediator had a significant
positive effect on business performance.
