Abstract : Climate change poses a critical threat to food security in Sub-Saharan Africa, with rural farming households being particularly vulnerable. This study investigates the effects of climate variability on the food security of farming households in Sandor Chiefdom, Kono District, and Eastern Province, Sierra Leone. Using a mixed-methods design, data were collected from 150 farming households through structured questionnaires, interviews, and focus group discussions. Results reveal that unpredictable rainfall patterns, prolonged dry spells, and increasing temperatures have disrupted traditional farming cycles, reduced crop yields, and lowered livestock productivity.

Keywords : Climate Change; Food Security; Farming Households; Adaptation Strategies; Sandor Chiefdom; Sierra Leone; SubSaharan Africa.
