Abstract :
The present review is a systematic literature review-cum-bibliometric analysis of sustainable e-commerce, read against the much larger literature on reverse logistics, the circular economy and sustainable supply-chain management. Records were taken from Scopus on 11 September 2026, screened under the PRISMA framework and mapped using Biblioshiny and VOSviewer. The mapped set comprises 867 documents (747 articles and 120 reviews) written by 2,595 authors. Reverse logistics is the largest author keyword (403 occurrences) and circular economy follows (177), while ecommerce appears in only 19 documents. The co-occurrence maps show clusters on decision methods, closed-loop network design and optimisation, waste recovery, and digital technologies. India, Brazil and China lead in country output. The review identifies gaps in empirical testing of digital tools, consumer and social perspectives, and the labelling of e-commerce research, and sets out a future research agenda.
