Abstract :
This study evaluated the technical performance and behavioral impact of the Smart Water Jug–Plastic Bottle Disposal System (SWJ – PBDS) as a strategy at Ocampo National High School – Senior High School (ONHS-SHS). The research addressed the escalating issue of plastic waste, focusing on reducing plastic bottle consumption through innovative smart sensor technology. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining descriptive and quasi-experimental designs. The descriptive component details the system’s characteristics via surveys, gathering data on user experiences and operational aspects. The quasi-experimental component assesses the system’s impact on waste management outcomes using a pre-test and post-test survey to compare waste reduction before and after the implementation of the research product.
