Abstract : Lipases are class of enzymes catalyzing aqueous and non-aqueous phases. lipases belong to an important group of biotechnological enzymes, which have got industries dairy, , textile, clinical diagnosis, disease & biomedical importance etc. In this study, we have isolated an extracellular lipase Bacillus cereus MS6 enzymes from the effluent of a local Sewerage Yemen Company of ghee & soap industry (YCGSI) City of Taiz. The lipase production media was optimized of the enzyme and the purification was performed by a series of steps as well as using column Cellulose ion exchange chromatograph, thus SDS- electrophoreses which indicated a single protein band corresponding to a molecular weight of approximately 35 kilo-Dalton. The pH optimum was found to be 9.0 as well temperature at 40 0C, extracellular lipase that we have isolated and purified in this study has shown thermal and pH stability and activity in comparable with other bacterial extracellular lipases.
