Abstract : Mining activities can alter soil properties and contribute to the accumulation of potentially toxic metals in surrounding environments. This study assessed the pH and concentrations of lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), and arsenic (As) in soils from selected mining areas in Ebonyi State, southeastern Nigeria. Soil samples were collected at 0–20 cm depth from three mining locations: Enyigba, Nkaleke Achara–Izzi Unuhu, and Mkpuma Akpatakpa, with Okworike Agbaja Farm serving as the control.

Keywords : Heavy Metals; Soil Contamination; Mining; Contamination Factor; Ebonyi State.
