Abstract : The brick industry plays a vital role in rural and semi-urban economies, particularly in supporting construction activities. However, it largely operates within the informal sector, where workers face socio-economic deprivation and lack institutional protection. The present study examines the socio-economic conditions of brick industry workers in Karad Tahsil of Satara district. It focuses on income levels, housing conditions, health status, education, migration patterns, gender issues, and access to government welfare schemes. The study is based on primary data collected from 50 workers using structured interviews. The findings reveal that workers are economically vulnerable, socially marginalized, and deprived of basic amenities and social security. The paper suggests policy-level interventions to improve their living standards and ensure sustainable livelihoods.
