Abstract :
Treatment of periodontal disease aims at
achieving a healthy periodontium and preventing the risk
of recurrence / disease progression. Both Surgical and
Non-surgical therapy are equally effective in improving
periodontal disease. The use of antibiotics in conjugation
with periodontal therapy has always been perplexing.
This review aims at discussing the rationale behind
prescribing the antibiotics with periodontal procedures
