Abstract :
In the current dynamic business environment where competition is very stiff, it has become imperative for businesses to always come up with innovations as a way of ensuring growth and keeping a competitive advantage [1]. While technology and other factors have increased the need for innovations in businesses, the success of scaling innovations could also depend on the kind of leaders in an organization [2]. Entrepreneurial leadership can thus be defined as an approach that utilizes visioning, opportunity seeking, risk taking and organizational flexibility in order to ensure continuous innovation and corporate growth [3]. Many research studies have been carried out in order to understand the relationship between leadership and innovation but not many have been done about the role of entrepreneurial leadership in scaling innovations and sustaining corporate growth across diverse industries. Qualitative multiple-case study method will be utilized to explore the role of entrepreneurial leadership in shaping innovation and sustainable growth and performance of the organization. The research makes use of the secondary data sources including academic journals, company reports, leadership insights and case-studies of global organizations who have become successful through innovations. We analyze the data using thematic analysis, identifying the repeating themes of effective behavior for leaders, organization capabilities and strategy involved in scaling innovation. The findings show the way in which entrepreneurial leadership helps create an organizational culture that values creativity, adaptability, learning, empowerment of employees and innovation-oriented approach toward customers [3]. Moreover, ambidexterity of the organization as part of transformation and sustainable growth as a result of innovation becoming an integral part of strategy and being facilitated by adaptive leadership is also considered in alignment with the results of the research. Thus, the research, by bringing together different perspectives from various theoretical frameworks as well as practical organizational phenomenon through corporate examples, contributes to the existing literature on forming the above-mentioned connection between entrepreneurial leadership and its ability to scale innovation for sustainable growth. It further offers implications to practice where business leaders can shape resilient, future-ready organizations.
