Abstract :
This study aims at finding rural linkages in City Bhiwani of Haryana .It aims to find out rural connections of city
dwellers . The concept of “Rural -Urban Continuum” merges rural and urban elements connoting rural elements in urban
areas and urban elements in rural areas. So urbanism as a way of life in urban areas carries with it elements of ruralism
giving rise to rural-urban continuum. Bhiwani city is becoming urbanized slowly adopting urban way of life but also
maintaining rural connections. Different communities with different cultural backgrounds maintain different quantity of
rural connections. Results of this study shows that specific communities such as members of Jat caste has more rural
connections than other castes.
