Project IP: An Innovation Program for LeastMastered Students in Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health in Bulihan Integrated National High School

Abstract : The main concern of this study were the students who belong to least-mastered. An Innovation Program (IP) – a strategy was developed to increase the number in mastery level rate in Bulihan Integrated National High School (BINHS). It is also a strategy for teachers that will apply for students to master the subject especially in Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health to ensure quality education to our fellow students. This study used the descriptive method of research and utilized mixed type of research (Quantitative and Qualitative) as assess the factors that affect students to be in least-mastered level in Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH) in Bulihan National High School. The subject of the study were the students and teachers of MAPEH in Grade 7, 8, 9 and 10, since they conduct teaching and assessment to their students in class and the one who serve as teacher in Bulihan National High School (BNHS). An intervention scheme entitled “Moving Forward into Mastery Level” for students at the low mastery-level. It compose of three (3) intervention scheme for students at low mastery-level and to increase the percentage of students through mastery level. The subjects such as Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health of Grade 7, 8, 9, and 10 with 94.96, 92.83, 91.01, and 92.47 respectively with a total of 92.82 percent attained the mastered level in the Academic Year of 2017-2018. This manifest that the Project IP of MAPEH Department conducted is effective in attaining the mastered level of students such as Test-Retest, INSET-Test Construction, Pointing It Out (PIO), and Teach-Reteach remediation
