Jatropha gossypiifolia (Linn.) is one of the poisonous ornamentals, as well as a medicinal plant. The shrub is native to Gujarat State (India), Central and South America. This review study includes the complete Botanical description, Phytochemical constituents and Pharmacological activity and ethnomedicinal properties of Jatropha gossypiifolia (Linn.) plant parts. Jatropha gossypiifolia (Linn.) is a member of the family Euphorbiaceae, which is the largest family belonging to the Angiosperms. This plant has been used since ages for its well-known medicinal properties. It has been well established that the phytochemicals are responsible for the pharmacological properties. This review has included extensive information regarding the various aspects of the plant.
