Abstract : Traditional examination processes involve question-paper preparation, printing, manual distribution, answer collection, evaluation, and result preparation, which require considerable time and effort. This paper presents an Online Examination Management System, a java-based application developed to digitize and simplify the examination workflow. The system provides separate facilities for administrators and students. Administrators can manage students, subjects, examinations, and multiple-choice questions, while students can register, log in, view available examinations, read instructions, attend examinations, and submit answers. The application is implemented using Java, JSP, Servlets, Hibernate/JPA, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. A three-tier architecture separates the presentation, application, and data layers. Testing covered authentication, subject and examination management, question handling, answer submission. All eight documented test cases passed, confirming that the implemented modules operated according to the specified requirements.
