Abstract :
The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a mandatory tool for large infrastructure projects including
hydropower projects in Nepal and it has designed to assess the environmental and social impacts of a project which is
comprehensive, covering various scientific disciplines and concerns, including those related to involuntary resettlement.
However, the application of EIA in Nepal, especially concerning involuntary resettlement, has been a subject of discussion
and analysis.
The major objectives of this study are as follows: (I) An Overview of policies related on EIA and IR, (II) Find out the
policy-gaps and (III) Provide the Valuable Way forwards for IR in Nepal.
Methods:
Collect and review of several Acts, Rules and Regulations (Legal-Policy- Review). Similarly, Case Study and
Comparatively Assessment as well as Empirical Assessment etc are the major methods for preparing the research Work.
