This study is an attempt to introduce theory based practice in the clinical setting and thereby improving nurse’s competency as well as client satisfaction. It highlights the non pharmacological pain management measures that can be implemented while giving intramuscular injection. Rhythmic tapping over the skin is found to be an effective method to reduce procedural pain. It is the art of nursing, to implement such pain reliving strategies while performing invasive procedures. Hence investigator had taken up “effectiveness of skin tap technique on level of pain during im injection among adult clients in orthopedic wards at hsk hospital and research centre bagalkot, karnataka.”
