Abstract :
This research focuses on developing and standardizing an achievement test in Mathematics Pedagogy specifically
designed for B.Ed. pre-service teachers. The preliminary draft of the test consisted of 60 items prepared from ten modules
of the mathematics pedagogy curriculum, along with a blueprint and scoring key. The draft was administered to 120 preservice teachers during the initial try-out. After item analysis, which included calculation of item difficulty and
discrimination indices, 50 items were retained for the final test. Test reliability was evaluated using the split-half method
and Cronbach's alpha. Content validity was ascertained through an expert panel which thoroughly examined the test items
and thus ensured that they were consistent with the curriculum and objectives of mathematics pedagogy. Therefore, the
standardized achievement test is a reliable and valid tool for assessing the cognitive skills of B. Ed. pre, service teachers in
the area of mathematics pedagogy.
