Abstract :
Hybrid electric jet engines without turbines,
in which the compressors are powered by fuel cells
rather than the turbines, are a potential and evolving
technology for unmanned aerial vehicles. The hybrid
electric jet engine combines the benefits of fuel cells and
turbo-electric engines. The hybrid engine produces high
specific thrust and excellent thermal efficiency.
