Abstract :
The United States faces a persistent shortage of qualified cybersecurity professionals at a time when digital
transformation is accelerating across critical sectors. As cyber threats grow in sophistication, the demand for skilled
practitioners continues to outpace supply, creating vulnerabilities that affect national security, economic stability, and
organizational resilience. This paper examines the factors contributing to the cybersecurity workforce gap, drawing on
professional experience in digital financial systems and project management to illustrate the importance of integrating
cybersecurity into technology initiatives. The analysis highlights the need for workforce development, interdisciplinary
education, and leadership engagement to strengthen the cybersecurity talent pipeline and support a secure digital economy.
