Abstract :
Indonesia has carried out defense industry
state-owned enterprises holding to create a strong and
independent defense industry. This study aims to examine
the opportunities and challenges of the Indonesian defense
industry after holding. This qualitative research uses
interviews and literature studies as a method of collecting
data that originates from primary and secondary data, and
analyzed using the competitive strengths model. By
holding the defense industry holding, defense
independence will be more easily realized because the
state-owned defense industry is much more consolidated so
that it is better prepared to compete in the global market
and can generate economic benefits for Indonesia.
However, there are a number of challenges that must be
overcome by the Indonesian government, including
fulfilling domestic component level and becoming the top
50 in the world's defense industry. A number of these
challenges need to be resolved and pursued so that
Indonesia's dependence on defense and security from
abroad is reduced.
