Abstract :
The digital age has brought about a significant shift in journalism, characterized by the integration of artificial
intelligence (AI) and the influential role of online platforms. This paper delves into the diverse impact of AI on online
journalism, emphasizing its potential to transform news production, distribution, and audience interaction. Technologies
such as natural language processing and machine learning enable real-time data analysis, automated content creation, and
tailored news delivery, leading to substantial changes in journalistic practices. The paper also explores the progression of
journalism from traditional forms to a digital-first approach, illustrating how AI assists journalists in managing extensive
data while addressing issues such as algorithmic biases, misinformation, and ethical challenges. The growth of
participatory journalism, fuelled by social media and online platforms, is another focus, highlighting how these tools
promote community involvement and reader engagement in the digital media landscape. While AI boosts efficiency and
accessibility, it also requires a careful balance between technological innovation and the preservation of core journalistic
values. The study emphasizes the need for establishing ethical guidelines and enhancing journalists' skills to successfully
navigate the complexities of the AI-driven digital era. By examining these elements, the paper provides valuable insights
into the evolving relationship between AI and online journalism, shedding light on its transformative influence on modern
communication.
