Abstract :
Conventional heat treatment of steel involves
heating the material to its austenitizing temperature,
followed by quenching and tempering. Rapid cooling
transforms austenite to martensite which begins and
finishes at the martensite start temperature (MS) and
martensite finish temperature (MF) respectively.
